Iles Leads Big Red in Game One (video)

Cornell senior goalie Andy Iles stopped 28 of 29 shots to lead the Big Red to a 2-1 win over Clarkson in the opening game of a best-of-three ECAC Hockey quarterfinal series Friday night at Lynah Rink.

Clarkson (20-16-4 overall) needs to win game two at 7 p.m. tonight to force a deciding game at 7 p.m. Sunday.

The Big Red (16-8-5) took a 2-0 lead on the Golden Knights. Kirill Gotovets scored on a rebound at 11 minutes, 33 seconds of the first period and Joakim Ryan scored during a major power-play at 2:31 of the second.

Clarkson's only goal came at 14:49 of the second period when freshman Jordan Boucher was pulled down from behind on a breakaway attempt and then scored on a penalty shot.

Steve Perry finished with 31 saves for Clarkson.
