Frances G. “Frannie” Nugent


Funeral services are entrusted with Frary Funeral Home, on 515 Caroline Street, for Frances G. “Frannie” Nugent, age 87, of New York Ave., Ogdensburg, and were held at 1:30PM on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Notre Dame Church with the Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery in the Spring. Mrs. Nugent passed away on Friday, March 14 2014 at her home under the care of Hospice.

She is survived by two sons, Woodrow Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Waddington, and Jeffery of Ogdensburg; three grandchildren, Ian Nugent, Ashley Nugent, Collin Nugent; newly born great grandchild, Sawyer; two lifelong friends, Evelyn Gotham of Rochester and Mary Clark of Canton as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Nancy Fournier.

Mrs. Nugent was born in Ogdensburg on August 12, 1926, the daughter of Frank and Blanch Gillette LeBeau. She attended St. Mary’s Academy in Ogdensburg and worked most of her life as a Teacher’s Aide and Environmental Services, at Washington School. She married Woodrow Nugent on January 21, 1950 at Notre Dame Church with Rev. A.D. Charbonneau officiating. He predeceased her on July 4, 2009.

Frances loved her family, enjoyed playing cards, bingo, camping, watching game shows, her New York Giants and had a special bond with animals and her pets.
