Senior game brings curtain down on Section 10 boys hockey season

POTSDAM - The Section 10 boys hockey season officially came to a close with the Senior Game at SUNY Potsdam’s Maxcy Hall Arena on Wednesday.

Guided by Massena Central coaches Mike Trimboli and Ken Hurlbut, the Dark Team managed to outscore the White Team, coached by Norwood-Norfolk’s Paul Durant and Salmon River’s Mike Sisto, 9-7.

Massena’s Ryan Thomas netted a pair of goals in the winning effort teammate Josh Blair also scored while Canton’s Gage Emerson tallied a pair of goals. Connor Warden of Potsdam and Tucker Bartenslager of Franklin Academy contributed offensively while Massena’s Connor Paquin and Norwood-Norfolk’s Kyler MacIntire combined to backstop the win.

Salmon River senior accounted for the majority of the White Team with Dennis Bero and Aidan Comins sharing crease duties while Nate Smoke, Austin Comins, who scored on the game’s first penalty shot, Kassidy LaFrance, Ronnie Boots and Tye Terrance anchored the offensive effort along with the OFA trio of Jon Tayler, Zach Barr and Andrew Roddy.

Other members of the Dark Team included; Massena’s Cameron Marsh, Tyler Young and JP Reagan; Josh Locey of Potsdam, Canton’s Tanner Sanderson, Nate Gibson and Fisher Tiernan, along with Franklin Academy’s Jake Perry, Trevor Henderson, Jake Henning and Loghan Harris.

Rounding out the White Team were Salmon River’s Austin Leroux and Ty Thomas.
