OGDENSBURG Spring is when people start thinking about buying or selling a home. And just in time for the buying and selling season, North Country Savings Bank and Blue Heron Realty will host an informational Homebuyers and Sellers Show on April 2.
The show will be held at the Dobisky Visitors Center, 100 Riverside Ave., from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and will give homeowners information they need to make their property stand out to potential buyers. It will also offer prospective homebuyers a leg up in navigating the real estate market.
Lisa M. Woodward, a loan originator at North Country Savings Bank, will offer free financial consultations for prospective homebuyers.
Well offer information on how buyers can get preapproved for a mortgage, receive credit reports and learn all the steps of buying and closing on a home, she said.
New York Licensed Real Estate Broker and Blue Heron Realty owner Jennifer Stevenson also will be on hand to discuss the home buying and selling process. Ms. Stevenson, a licensed Realtor for 25 years, has owned Blue Heron Realty since 1999.
Homebuyers and sellers need to find an agent that they feel comfortable with and who is available during the hours that they are available, Ms. Stevenson said.
Getting in touch with the right Realtor is crucial in the buying and selling process.
As a real estate professional, we know how to help someone with financing, especially when they are looking at buying their very first house, she said. Our job is to be there every step of the way. We will help you through the process right up until closing.
Ms. Stevenson said a Realtor can help potential homebuyers by signing them up through a multiple listing service, a database used to share information about available properties.
Scott Gillan from Peace of Mind Inspections will be on hand to discuss home inspections. Patricia Kelley from Farrands Flowers will be there to discuss curb appeal, and how to beautify a home for showings. Jill Coelho from J.T. Phillips Insurance Agency will be there to discuss insurance options.
To register for the event or to make an appointment, contact Mrs. Woodward at 541-3007. Walk-ins also are welcome.
