RESISTING ARREST - MASSENA - Village police charged Kyle T. Kargoe, 17, of 19 Bishop Ave., Massena, and Jordan P. Deshane, 18, of 7 Bishop Ave., Massena, with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct at 11:38 p.m. on Willow Street.

Kargoe was additionally charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Police said the charges stemmed from an investigation into a complaint that a teenager was out of control at 19 Bishop. Kargoe was reportedly irate that his mother was inside his room and broke items inside the residence, including a coffee table, head butted a wall and threw pieces of the coffee table down the stairs.

They said they located Kargoe with Deshane on Bishop Avenue, and Deshane struggled with officers as they attempted to conduct their investigation. Kargoe also reportedly joined the confrontation, and the teenagers also reportedly pushed and struggled with officers when they were being handcuffed.

Kargoe was held in the village lockup Saturday night, arraigned Sunday morning by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $1,000 cash. The court also signed a temporary order of protection directing him not to harass his mother, Shirley Mitchell.
