Thedeadline for artists to submit artwork in the Frederic Remington Art Museums 2014 Members Juried Art Exhibit is next week.
In the 2014 Members Juried Art Exhibit, the museums member artists are invited to submit up to three digital photos of their art by April 16. Open to artists everywhere, one work from each artist is guaranteed acceptance. This exhibit is the museums most inclusive juried art exhibit; every artist gets at least one work in the show. Its during the museums peak tourist season, so gets maximum exposure.
An artist who is not yet a museum member may join with their entry into the exhibit. The deadline for submission of digital images via email to email@example.com or on CD, entry form and payment is April 16. The exhibit opens with a reception on May 17, and will remain on view through Sept. 28. Works in the exhibit may be offered for sale, with one third of the price benefiting the museum. The juror chooses from digital representations of up to three artworks, and also awards prizes for best in show, 2nd and 3rd place. A Publics Choice award will be chosen by visitor ballots cast throughout the exhibition. The prize, a framed print of Frederic Remingtons 1908 painting, Petes Shanty, will go to the winner.
The juror is Rebekah Wilkins-Pepiton a visual artist working in photography, printmaking, and graphic design. She lives in Canton, New York and serves as the Executive Director of the St. Lawrence County Arts Council. Her art work has been shown in galleries across the US and published in a variety of journals and full length books. Her solo exhibition, 99: China from the Outside In, was on display in Potsdam, NY, December 2013 to January 2014. Her woodcut prints were part of the Old Crows and Other Blackbirds exhibit alongside seven diverse artists at Paul Smiths College VIC, February 2014.
