Funeral services for Arthur “Louie” P. Baker Sr. age 61 of 501 King Street Ogdensburg, will be held on Friday (April 18, 2014) at 4:30pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be held privately with his family.

Calling hours will be held also on Friday from 2:00pm until the time of the service at 4:30pm at the funeral home. Mr. Baker passed away on Saturday (April 12, 2014) at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse surrounded by his family.

Surviving is his wife Yvonne; two sons Arthur Baker Jr. & his wife Brandy and Bernard Baker both of Ogdensburg; two daughters Tonya Fisher & her husband Stanley of Colton and Mollie Jo Baker & her companion Shane Perkins of Ogdensburg; three sisters Rosemary LaJoy & her husband Alfred of Ogdensburg, Roberta Fifield & her husband Joseph and Roxanne Yerden & her husband Terry both of Rensselaer Falls; ten grandchildren Arthur III, Aric & Courtney Baker, Skyler Martin; Nate, Camden, Cayden & Nevin Perkins; Mackaylae & Mackenna Fisher; his faithful companion dog Toby, along with many nieces, nephews & cousins.

A brother Bernard John Baker predeceased him.

“Louie” was born on August 10, 1952 in Ogdensburg NY a son of the late Robert & Theresa (Robinson) Baker. He attended local schools for his education, and married Yvonne E. Mahoney on September 19, 1979. During his career he was employed as a security guard, general laborer and most recently as a bus driver for the Ogdensburg City School District until he became disabled in 2004.

He was a member of Odd Fellows and AmVets in Ogdensburg, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting guns, watching western movies, coin collecting, crafts, collecting Hess Trucks, swapping and trading and spending time with his grandchildren.
