Funeral services for Helen M. Guilboard, age 86 of Linden Street in Ogdensburg will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday (April 24, 2014) at the United Methodist Church in Ogdensburg with Pastor David Piatt officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with a Rebekah & Odd Fellow service taking place at 6:15pm. Mrs. Guilboard passed away on Wednesday (April 16, 2014) at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.

Surviving are her siblings Sylvia Paro of Charlotte NC, Helena Krebs of Pittsford NY and Richard Paro of Ogdensburg; nephews Dana Krebs of Rochester, Kevin Krebs of Atlanta GA, Derek Krebs of Dove Canon CA, Rick Paro of Ogdensburg, Nathan Paro of Philadelphia PA and a niece Melanie Baran of Crown Point IN; 13 great-nieces & nephews and 1 great-great- nephew. Her husband Allan Guilboard predeceased her.

Helen was born on April 27, 1927 in Cranberry Lake NY, a daughter of the late Paul H. & Clara J. (O’Shea) Paro. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and continued her education at the Effie Lou Wallace Business School. She married Allan E. “Red” Guilboard on August 4, 1951 at the United Methodist Church in Ogdensburg.

Helen was employed at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center until the early 1970’s working in the dining room and as an attendant until her retirement. She was a member of the Maple City Swingers, Eureka Rebekah Lodge # 129, The United Methodist Women’s Group, Odd Fellows and the local REACT Team. She enjoyed square dancing, spending time at her camp, playing cards, crafts, knitting, crocheting and being with her family and friends.
