Meals on Wheels recognizes volunteers for their service

To The Editor:

Not only today, but each and every other day of the year as well, the staff, board of directors, and recipients of Massena Meals on Wheels wish to give our utmost appreciation, praise, and respect to all of our volunteers. In 2013 our dedicated volunteers delivered over 23,000 meals to Massena and its surrounding communities.

Our volunteers are selfless, caring, and so eager to give, without asking for anything in return. They are not reimbursed for miles traveled, gas used, or time spent visiting with recipients or staff.

You are the true definition of compassion and humanity. Thank you for supporting us and giving us the means to keep “Keep the Wheels Rolling.”

We would also like to thank a few local businesses that helped us honor our wonderful volunteers on April 25 with a dinner held at the Meals on Wheels building:

Hannaford Superstore, JAC Tower, Wal-Mart, Verville’s Flowers, Common Grounds, Jreck Subs, Price Chopper, Guy’s Restaurant, Dunkin’ Donuts, Dave MacMillan & Company, The Lobster House and Subway.
