AURORA — Tressa Goolden scored five goals and assisted on three others to lead the SUNY Canton women’s lacrosse team to a 20-6 win over Wells in a nonconference game Thursday.

Joelle Percy and Robyn Carroll each scored four goals with one assist and Keeley Rice added one goal and six assists for SUNY Canton (9-4 overall).

Hannah Christiansen and Caitlin LaVoie scored two goals and Brooke Knight and Megan Poupore each tossed in one.

Lexie Roberson and Alaina Kelahan scored two goals for Wells (3-8).

BASEBALL

UTICA 17-7, SUNY CANTON 3-11

Kevin Hill picked up two hits in each game as SUNY Canton split a nonconference doubleheader with the Pioneers (7-15) in Utica.

Austin Hernandez, Chris Jones, Jesse Barton and Jeremy Baez each lined two hits for the Kangaroos (15-15) in the second game.

Adam Pexton finished with six overall hits to lead Utica.

CANNONEERS SWEEP COUGARS

Kyle Simmons collected five hits, including a double, and drove in five runs overall to lead Jefferson Community College to a Region 3 doubleheader sweep of Clinton CC (2-10) at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.

Jason Hardie and TJ Montalbano each provided three hits in the first game for the Cannoneers (11-12, 5-7).

Shavict Lora paced the lineup in game two, finishing 2-for-3 with a double, home run and three RBI.
