Tug Hill Commission to meet Monday in Carthage

CARTHAGE — The Tug Hill Commission will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the village municipal building, 120 S. Mechanic St. Besides the routine business of the commission, the meeting will include updates on the Regional Economic Development Councils, discussion with the River Area Council of Governments and discussion and review of major projects and activities in the region.

The commissioners will be updated on the redevelopment of the former Braman Manufacturing site for low-income housing through the Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity.

The public is welcome and there will be a public comment period at the end of the meeting.

The Tug Hill Commission is a state agency operating throughout the Tug Hill region, which runs from Utica, Rome and Oneida Lake north to Lowville and Watertown.

The commission provides assistance to Tug Hill communities and local groups on environmental and economic development projects and is governed by a board of local residents, appointed by the governor and state Legislature.
