Jefferson County Undersheriff Paul W. Trudeau is hosting three meet and greet events this week as he campaigns for Sheriff of Jefferson County:
n 6 p.m. Monday at the Watertown Town Court, 22869 County Route 67, Watertown
n 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Lake Ontario Playhouse, 103 Main St., Sackets Harbor
n 6 p.m. Friday at Savory Downtown, 300 Washington St., Watertown
Mr. Trudeau, who was appointed to his current position by Sheriff John P. Burns in February 2012, was formerly the head of the departments K-9 unit. He is running as a Democrat. He faces former state police senior investigator Colleen M. ONeill in a September primary.
Watertown native John R. Bocciolatt, a former detective sergeant with the Portland, Ore., police bureau, is running for the office as a Republican.
