Five charged over alleged March bar fight in Lyons Falls


LYONS FALLS—Four Port Leyden residents and a Lyons Falls man were arrested Monday after an altercation at a Lyons Falls restaurant on March 16.

Lewis County sheriff’s deputies said Lance M. Hoffert, 32, of 4010 Shibley Road; Lawrence F. Hoffert II, 35, of 6962 Kelpytown toad, Port Leyden; Katelyn M. Ward, 22, of 2778 Route 12, Port Leyden, and Richard A. Young and Rebecca L. Sturtevant, both 33 and of 3518 Fowlerville Road, Port Leyden, were involved in a fight at Boondocks Restaurant, 3952 Route 12.

Deputies said Mr. Young and Lance Hoffert entered the restaurant at 1:45 that morning with several other people. Soon after, the altercation began involving Mr. Young, Lance Hoffert and others, deputies said.

Several items, including two pool cues, several bar glasses and a bar chair, were broken during the altercation.

Mr. Young and Lance Hoffert were charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. Both were issued appearance tickets to West Turin Town Court. The other three were charged with disorderly conduct and issued summonses to West Turin Town Court.
