Morristown holds UPK, kindergarten registration

MORRISTOWN — Children who will be 4 years old on or before Dec. 1 are eligible to attend the Morristown Central School District’s universal pre-kindergarten program.

Registration will be held May 5 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., and May 6 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Appointments are not necessary. Parents and guardians are asked to bring their child so they can visit the UPK classroom.

The district will also conduct kindergarten registration Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m. Registration is by appointment. Please call school nurse Carolyn Thibert at 375-8814, extension 21006 to schedule an appointment.

Kindergarten screening will be held only for children who are not currently enrolled in the district’s UPK program.

Documents required for both UPK and kindergarten registration are immunization records, birth certificate, custody papers or orders of protection (if applicable), a copy of a doctor’s physical, and two proofs of residency, which may include a drivers license, lease agreement or bill that lists the child’s physical residents (not a post office box).

Parents looking for more information may contact Ms. Thibert.
