Patricia L. Pitkin


A Memorial Mass for Patricia L. Pitkin, age 71 formerly of Park Street in Canton, will be held at 10:00 am on (Saturday May 3rd, 2014) at the Grace Episcopal Church Canton, with Rev. Evette Austin officiating. Entombment will follow at the Foxwood Memorial Park Ogdensburg. Calling hours will be held on (Friday May 2nd, 2014) from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 at Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mrs. Pitkin passed away at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility on Saturday (April 26, 2014) surrounded by her family.

Surviving are her children Michael & Matthew Ewart both of Ogdensburg; step-children Michael Pitkin and his wife Lauren of CT., Jeffrey Pitkin and his wife Ellen of Albany, Michelle Barbour and her husband Paul of Higly Flow, and Cathy Pitkin-Owens of the Caroline’s; a sister Mary Ann Erwin of Arizona; a niece & nephew Mark Corrice of New Jersey, Mary Beth Corrice of Syracuse, and a cousin Richard and his wife Jeanne Brennan of Ogdensburg.

Her husband Howard A. Pitkin predeceased her.

Patricia was born in Ogdensburg NY on April 7, 1943 a daughter of the late Bernard & Virginia (Bell) Brennan. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy. A previous marriage ended and she then married Howard A. Pitkin on August 13, 1983 in Morristown NY.

After high school she became employed at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital where she worked as an X – Ray technician for 15 years. She later moved to Canton after her marriage and began working at the Canton Central School where she worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Principal until her retirement in 2003.

She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Canton and enjoyed gardening, traveling, animals and bird watching.
