MADRID - Madrid-Waddington earned a split with Gouverneur and Clifton-Fine in Northern Athletic Conference Boys and Girls Track and Field action at home on Thursday.
The Jackets beat Clifton-Fine 206-28 in girls and 164-36 in boys but lost close encounters with Wildcats 169.5-145.5 (girls) and 148-92 (boys).
Gouverneur swept the Eagles 230-20 - girls and 179-28 boys.
Gabrielle and Cassidy Scott produced three wins for the Lady Yellowjackets winning the 400, 800 and 3000 meters and added two legs in the winning 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays. Cassidy Scott also placed second in the 1500 but the Wildcats earned several second through six place finishes to edge the Jackets.
Hannah Marcellus produced wins in the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles and ran on the winning 4x400 and 4x800 teams. Natalie Boland won the shotput.
Kaleigh Field and Kellsi Tiernan joined the winning 4x800 team, while Tiernan and Sara Evans helped the winning 4x400 relay team. Megan McCall won the high jump and placed second in the 100 hurdles while
Tiernan (400H) and Field (HJ) took second. Field added two thirds in the 800 and 1500 meters.
Ciara Spicer finished first for Gouverneur in the 100 and 200 meters while Belisena Hall captured wins in the Long Jump and Triple Jump. .
Gabrielle Dunkelberg won the 1500 meters while Danielle McCormick placed first in the Discus,
Kara Cummings, Hall, Nicole Ward and Katelyn Kennedy finished first in the 4x100 relay. Cummings also chipped in two second place finishes in the 100 and 200. Ward placed second in the 400 and Long Jump. Alisha Way placed second in the Discus and Shot Put.
The distance races, the sprints and the relays keyed the Wildcat victory as Jacob Erdman won the 1600 and 3200 meter runs and ran a leg in the 4x400 meters and 4x800 meter relays. Luke Dunkelberg won the 800 and aided the 4x400 and 4x800 while Brayton Dusharm won the 100 meters and helped the winning 4x100 meter relay.
Jose Flores claimed a win in the 200 and aided the 4x100 while Adrian McShane placed first in the high jump and helped the 4x100 relay win. Chad Curcio finished first in the Triple Jump and placed second in the 100 meters and was a member of the winning 4x100. Jacob Lewis and Matt Kopchinski helped the 4x400 and Troy Gates and Frederick Nentwick were members of the 4x800 meter relay.
Madrid-Waddington received wins from Loring Hill in the 400 meters, Nick Zeledon in the 110 hurdles, Brendon ONeil in the 400 hurdles, and Ian Hawkins in the Discus. Second place efforts came from: ONeil (200), Josh Reed (800M), Tyler Robinson (3200M), Zeledon (400H), Devin Thomas (HJ), and Hawkins (SP), Delosh (Discus), and Shane Cryderman (Triple Jump).

HUSKIES WIN TWICE
Rebekkah Bond won the 200-meter run and the 400 to lead Malone (3-0) to a 184 1/2-133 1/2 triumph over Norwood-Norfolk and a 202-75 win over host Tupper Lake in a double-dual meet. Norwood-Norfolk added a 194-84 win over the Lumberjacks (0-4).
Brianna Hayes won the high jump and long jump to lead the Flyers (4-1).
Claire Olins two wins helped the Golden Bears (5-0) to a 173-111 victory over Massena and a 176-67 win over Salmon River in a double-dual meet in Massena. The Red Raiders (1-3) defeated Salmon River 180-92, knocking the Shamrocks to 0-2.Olin won the 200 and long jump for Canton.
CANTON BOYS SWEEP
Bryan Buckley won the 110 and 400 hurdles to send the Golden Bears (4-1) to wins over Salmon River and the Red Raiders in a double-dual meet in Massena.
Canton beat Massena 173-111 and added a 176-67 win over the Shamrocks (0-2). Massena (1-3) topped Salmon River 180-82.
MALONE WINS PAIR
Jamiel Stapleton and Tyler Martin each won two events as the Huskies (3-0) clipped Norwood-Norfolk 145 1/2-94 1/2 and Tupper Lake 175-52 in a double-dual meet in Tupper Lake. The Flyers (4-1) added a 155-63 win over Tupper Lake (0-4).
Stapleton won the 110 hurdles and the high jump and Martin won the 100 and 200.
