Democratic Congressional candidate Aaron G. Woolf, who is running for New York’s 21st District, sent an email to supporters Tuesday inviting them to a 50th birthday celebration in Plattsburgh next week.

The party will be from 6 - 8 p.m. May 13 at Olive Ridley’s, 37 Court St.

Donations of $50 to celebrate Mr. Woolf’s birthday are welcomed but not required, according to the email.

The birthday will double as an organizational event, as the campaign is also opening an office in Plattsburgh and is inviting supporters to the celebration to learn how to get involved “on one of the most exciting House campaigns in the country,” according to the email.

Mr. Woolf, a documentary filmmaker who owns a home in Elizabethtown, received the endorsement of Rep. Paul D. Tonko, D-Amsterdam, yesterday during a tour of businesses in Fulton County.

Speaking of birthdays, Mr. Woolf’s potential challenger, Stephen W. Burke, a man who has had trouble recalling his age in the past, is still fighting to stay on the ballot.

Mr. Burke and his Canton-based attorney, James L. Monroe, have filed a new action in the matter after the state Board of Elections invalidated Mr. Burke’s petitions last week for having insufficient signatures.

“We hope to prove that I should be on the ballot,” Mr. Burke said.

The hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday in Albany. A decision is expected by Friday.
