N-N golfers gain sweep over Canton, C-F; Massena splits tri-meet


RAYMONDVILLE — The Norwood-Norfolk Central golf team gained an NAC Division II tri-meet sweep over Canton (4-1) and Clifton-Fine (5-0) at the Raymondville Country Club on Tuesday.

Freshman Jacob Levison posted the low round of the day at the par 36 lay-out with a 41 in the fourth group. Also contributing a pair of wins toward the sweep for the Flyers were Ty Cotter (45), Beau Catimon (50) and Isaac Barkley (49). Playing in the first threesome, Brandon Palmer carded a 50 to split his matches against Canton’s Dan Christy (48) and Clifton-Fine’s Matt Peabody (55).

Kyle Bond shot a 55 as the sixth man for the Flyers.

Also competing for Canton were; Nate Aldous (60), Chase Writesel (72), Ryan Aldous (77), Cole Ladisson (75) and Cooper Filiatrault (79).

The other C-F golfers were; Logan Lutz (70), Eric Szlamczynski (60), Chad Kerr (65) and Anthony Levy (85).

In the girls division, Norwood-Norfolk’s Jayden Young fired a 45 while C-F seventh-grader Zana Northrup posted a 65.

The Flyers (3-2) are slated to host a dual meet against Heuvelton today in Raymondville starting at 3 p.m.


In a Division I tri-meet staged at Twin Brooks Golf and Country Club in Waddington, Massena Central finished with a 239 to earn a split against Brushton-Moira (273) and host Madrid-Waddington (239).

Hunter Francis had the low round for the Raiders (2-2) with a 42 followed by Brendan Dobbins (46), Kendrick Swamp (48), Jason Hammill (51), Mark Manchester (52) and Shane Tarbell (54).

Jeff Mott and Kaden Pickering each posted rounds of 42 for the Yellowjackets (4-1).

Devin Delisle shot a one-over par 36 for BMC (0-4).

OFA 221, Franklin Academy 231: at the St. Lawrence State Park course, the host Blue Devils were led by Tristen Moore with a 41 followed by Dillon Binion with a 42 as they took over sole possession of the top spot in the Division I standings at 4-0 while handing the Huskies their first setback.

David Sprague shot the low round of the meet for FA with a 40.
