N-N track teams split with Canton

NORFOLK - The Norwood-Norfolk Central varsity track teams settled for a split against their Canton Central counterparts in NAC dual meets on Wednesday.

BOYS MEET

The Flyers boys scored wins in all but two events in pulling away to a 156-79 decision over the Golden Bears. The trio of Travis Hall, Connor Levison and Deven Grant tallied two wins apiece with Hall claiming the 400 (55.3 seconds) and long jump (19’3.5”), Levison pacing both the 110 hurdles (16.0 seconds) and the 400 hurdles (1:01.8) and Grant leading the 1,600 (4:57.6) and 800 (2:13.8).

Also gaining solo firsts for the Flyers were; Jake Wellings in the 100 with a time of 11.9 seconds, Connor Fulk in the 3,200 with a time of 11:14.6, Will Schiavone in the triple jump at 35’11.5” and Zach Gibson in the discus at 116’11”.

The Flyers captured the three relay races. Connor Fulk, Kyle Fulk, Will Livernois and Adam Saucier combined to win the 3,200 in 9:27.9. Livernois also teamed up with Tyler Hardy, Preston White and Dustin Fisher to lead the 400 relay in 49.6 seconds. The quartet of Hall, Hardy, White and Levison won the 1,600 in 3:52.

The Flyers will be at the Madrid-Waddington Invitational Meet this Saturday.

GIRLS MEET

In the girls meet, Cadence Hunkins accounted for the lone win for the Lady Flyers as Canton gained a 168-141 decision. Kaycie Saucier placed second in the 800, 1,500 and 3,000 while Brianna Hayes took second in both the long jump and 400 while placing third in the high jump.
