Depth proved to be a common denominator for OFA and Madrid-Waddington in Tuesdays Northern Conference Division I Golf action .
Playing their first match at the St. Lawrence State Park, the Blue Devils (4-0) survived some shaky moments to underscore Malone (4-1) by 221-231 in a match of Division I unbeatens and Madrid-Waddington (228) swept Massena (239) and Brushton-Moira (273) at the Twin Brooks Golf and Country Club.
We had some big numbers today and I dont know why because we were playing at home. We just had some jitters today and hopefully weve got them worked out before we play Brushton-Moira at home on Thursday, said OFA Coach Joe Lynch.
But we were able to pull out the win.
Davis Sprague shot a medalist round of 40 for the Huskies but the Devils countered with a 41 from Tristen Moore, a 42 by Rudy Binion and a 43 by Jed McRoberts. Conor Hannan followed with a 47 and Matt Piercey and Ryan Petell each finished at 48.

Kaden Pickering and Jeff Mott shot 42s to lead Madrid-Waddington to a sweep and 4-1 start to its first season of Division I Golf.
We bounced back and played much better than we did at Potsdam yesterday, said M-W Coach Aaron Jones.
Our depth carried us today. Austin Delosh is a first-year golfer who wants to learn and keeps getting better.
Delosh shot a 47 combining with Zeb Zagrobelnys 46 and a 51 by Alex Hammond to round out the winning total. Wade Lawrence shot a nonscoring 53.
