POTSDAM - Photography skills spell success for visual artists. Local artist Sara E. Lynch has a very successful on-line business selling her ceramic sculptures and mixed media artwork, as well as experience applying for grant funding. On Saturday at 3:30 p.m. she will teach other artists how to photograph their work well to advance their own arts business careers.
Every artist who wants to sell on-line or who needs to enter work samples for a juried show or grant application needs to represent their artwork accurately and professionally. Learning how to photograph both two and three dimensional work well is an essential marketing skills for artists. Lynch will teach artists the basics they need to know as well as reviewing the many pitfalls of photographing work.
The cost is only $20, and participants are welcome to bring a sample piece of their artwork for practice that is under 8 in size in all directions. Class will meet in room 230, Downtown Snell Hall, 41 Elm St. To register or to learn more about other professional development classes for artists offered through SLC Arts, contact them at 265-6860 or visit www.slcartscouncil.org > Calendar.
