Watertown woman admits possessing stolen credit card


WATERTOWN — Amy L. Deem, 26, of 425 Washington St., pleaded guilty Friday in Jefferson County Court to fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. She admitted that she possessed a stolen credit card March 12 in Watertown. She is expected to be sentenced June 30 to three years’ probation and be ordered to pay $1,980 in restitution.

William R. Frawley, 31, of 40021 Cox Road, LaFargeville, pleaded guilty to third-degree criminal mischief as a result of one incident and second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment as a result of a second incident. He admitted that he damaged a pickup truck belonging to Andrew Beckstead on Jan. 26 in the town of Alexandria. He also admitted that he violated an order of protection held by Jamie Roshia by having unwanted physical contact with her while trying to take a cellphone out of her hand Feb. 22 in the town of Alexandria. He is expected to be sentenced June 20 to probation and be ordered to pay $1,354 in restitution.

Willie E. Mayes Jr., 42, formerly of Watertown, but now living in Pennsylvania, was arraigned on three counts each of second-degree forgery and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and four counts each of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny. The charges were contained in a grand jury indictment unsealed in court. It is alleged that on May 10, 2013, he filled out and signed four checks belonging to Heidi Lemon and cashed them for a total of $927 without her permission in the town of Watertown. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was sent to the PSB on $5,000 bail.
