More than 360 students from Heuvelton and Ogdensburg took part in the Fifth Annual Living History Day at the Richard Lockwood Arena.
Fort La Presentation Association hosts the hands-on history day that allows students to experience what is was like to live during colonial times.
Demonstrations of open hearth cooking, rope making, colonial lighting, butter churning, colonial dancing and fiddling, weaving, and colonial toys were held. Students will complete scavenger hunt questions for a chance to win prizes. The day will end with the firing of cannon.
The annual event is sponsored by the Fort La Presentation Association, Heuvelton Central School, Ogdensburg City School District, the Heuvelton Lions Club, the Ogdensburg Teachers Association, the Heuvelton Teachers Association, and the Heuvelton PTA.
