Motorists charged with DWI, related offenses


The following motorists are charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

n James W. Schlieder, 58, of 7889 Cobb Road, Copenhagen, was charged by state police after an alleged 11:04 a.m. accident on East Road in the town of Lowville on Saturday. Mr. Schlieder drove his SUV into the drags of a farm tractor, according to police. His blood alcohol content was 0.12 percent, police said. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher is considered proof of intoxication. Mr. Schlieder additionally was charged with failure to use the designated lane. No injuries were reported.

n Michael L. Woolf, 53, of 216 W. Iroquois Ave., Watertown, was charged by state police with aggravated DWI after a 10:01 p.m. traffic stop on Washington Street in the village of Brownville on Saturday. Mr. Woolf had a BAC of 0.18 percent, police said. Aggravated DWI is charged when the BAC is 0.18 percent or higher. He additionally was charged with drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway.

n Denialle M. Rogers, 30, of 21601 Route 60, was charged by state police with aggravated DWI following a two-vehicle accident on Route 3 in the town of Watertown. According to police, Mrs. Rogers had a BAC of 0.22 percent. Mrs. Rogers additionally was charged with failure to keep right, failure to use designated lane and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, Heather L. Rankin, 30, of Watertown, was not charged. No injuries were reported.

n Bruce W. Remus, 50, of 22767 Old Rome State Road, Watertown, was charged by city police at 12:54 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Black River Parkway with aggravated DWI, failure to obey a traffic control device and driving with a malfunctioning headlight.

His BAC was 0.29 percent, police said.

n Christopher G. Hathaway, 28, of 124 LeRay St., Black River, also was charged by Watertown city police with having a defective headlight at 2:28 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Boyd Street. His BAC was 0.17 percent, police said.
