Norwood-Norfolk High School names its students of the month


NORFOLK - The staff at Norwood-Norfolk Central School recently chose the Students of the Month for April. The students are selected for their academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community.

Kassey Northrop is the Freshman Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Kristy and Michael Northrop of Massena.

Kassey enjoys math and hanging out with friends. Kassey plays soccer, which is her favorite sport.

Her goal is to study engineering at Clarkson.

Breanna DeShane is the Sophomore Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Judy and Bruce DeShane of Norfolk.

Breanna likes soccer, basketball, softball and hanging out with friends. She is on the soccer, basketball and softball teams. She is a member of Varsity Club and National Honor Society.

Breanna wants to become a physical therapist.

Ayanna Mason is the Junior Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Jon and Leigh Mason of Massena.

Ayanna enjoys hanging out with friends, eating at the diner, basketball and Netflix. She plays basketball and participates in Spanish Club and Honor Society.

Ayanna’s future goal is to attend college and to work in the medical field.

Tyler Hardy is the Senior Student of the Month. He is the son of Brendon and Dorinda Hardy of Norwood.

Tyler’s interests include running, hiking, boating, U.S. History and coin collecting. He participates in cross-country, indoor track and outdoor track.

Tyler is going to Kingswood University in New Brunswick to study Christian Ministry.

The Norwood-Norfolk PTSA solicits gift cards from local businesses for each student. The businesses that donated are the Hotel Grande and Al Smiths of Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.

Also, the Norwood-Norfolk Teacher’s Association presents the Senior Student of the Month with a gift card to the Clarkson Bookstore.
