Hoswegatchie Duathlon Results


Two first time entries, Brock Davis of Brockville, Ont. and Bryon Dashnaw of Gouverneur, made an immediate impact at the July edition of the 2014 Hoswegatchie Series on Wednesday evening.

Davis led the Men’s field in a very fast time of 42:20 with Lisbon’s Will Glass, who led the June duathlon, taking second at 46:59 and Jeff Soper placing third at 47:57.

Dashnaw teamed up with Ogdensburg’s Nick Vielhauer and turned in the best bike time of the night outdueling Chuck Langley. Langley’s running partner Donovan Smith answered the challenge and came from behind to nip Vielhauer by one second (41:25-41:26) for a repeat of the Team title secured at the July Duathlon.

Dashnaw and Vielhauer teamed up for the first time and plan to compete in the third leg of the duathlon series and in the Maple City Triathlon. The duo is currently looking for a swimmer in the triathlon.

Shawn Paradis and Yes Dupont placed third at 45:21.

Kendra Moran (46:05) and Kristen Sutton (49:38), two 70.3 triathletes, led the Women’s field with Joan Wihse placing third at 50:45.

The August leg of the series will be held on Aug. 13.


The preparations for the first Maple City Triathlon, which will also be presented by CGSW Racing on Aug. 9, are shaping us nicely saw CGSW representatives.

The 750 meter swim has been laid out with a major portion of the course travelling over the sandbar. The triathlon will also include a 20K bike and a 5K run. The entry fee is now $65. The entry fee for teams is and $100.

Registration is limited to 130 individuals and 20 teams and entries must be postmarked by July 26.

Non USA Triathlon members must add $12 for a one-day membership which provides insurance.
