Slo-Pitch Race tightens


Club 1812 (12-5) registered a sweep over front-running Nig’s Tavern (11-3) to tighten the Ogdensburg Men’s Slo-Pitch Softball race on Thursday.

Also winning were: Ogdensburg Bowl (11-5) and Hosmer’s Marina (11-6).

Ogd Bowl 13 - Ogd Bowl II 5: Taylor Armstrong lined four singles and Greg Denner doubled and singled to lead the winners who scored six times in the fourth inning.

Blair Davis and Mike Ashley singled twice and Ryan Bouchey tripled.

Jake Herzog tripled and singled for Ogdensburg Bowl II, Chris Lalonde and Eric Howe doubled and singles and Andy Raven tripled.

Hosmer’s 17 - Murray’s 7: Bill Payne collected two doubles and two singles leading the winners who scored six times in the second and third innings.

Rob Powers stroked three singles followed by Justin King (double, single), Logan Ladouceur (double), Darin King (2 singles), Jared Morrow (double, single), Drew Thornhill (2 singles).

Claude Bennett scored twice for Murray’s.

Club 1812 7 - Buster’s 4: Gary Robinson singled three times leading the winners who scored five times in the first innings.

Other lead contributions came from: Nate Beaulieu (2 singles), Mike King (double), Chad TenEyck (2 doubles) and Earl Carter (2 singles).

Tylor Stevenson lined two triples and a single and Tanner Lawrence drilled a triple and two singles for Buster’s.

Paul LaPlante, Ethan Ladouceur, Tyler Ross and EJ Worden singled twice.

Club 1812 - Nig’s 8: A five-run sixth inning proved to be decisive for the winners who were led by: Nate Beaulieu (triple, 2 singles), Josh Ladouceur (double, 2 singles), Chad TenEyck (2 singles), Chris Havens (2 singles), Gary Robinson (2 singles) and Mike King (2 doubles, single).

Nig’s was led Bill Durham (triple, single), Justin Martel (double, single), Joe Brenno (double, single), Norm Martel (3 singles), Don McCarthy (2 singles), Ryan Joanette (2 singles) and John Bushey (double, single).


Standings: Nig’s Tavern 11-4, Club 1812 12-5, Ogdensburg Bowl 11-5, Hosmer’s Marina 11-6, Ogdensburg Bowl II 7-9, Buster’s 4-11, Murray’s Food Store 2-16.

Tuesday, July 22: Monnett Park - 6 p.m. Murray’s vs. Nig’s, 7:15 p.m. Nig’s at Ogdensburg Bowl II; Bridge and Port - 6 p.m. Ogdensburg Bowl at Buster’s.

Thursday, July 24: A mandatory meeting at the Ogdensburg Bowl 6:30 p.m. to discuss playoff schedule.
