MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT - PYRITES - A Waddington man is dead after a motorcycle accident Saturday in Pyrites.St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies said Roger L. Taylor, 34, of 1575 County Route 44, Waddington, failed to negotiate a turn on the Northwoods Road in Pyrites in the town of Canton, lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected. He was pronounced dead at Gouverneur Hospital, investigators said.

The sheriff’s department said their investigation into the accident is continuing.

DWI - POTSDAM - Canton-based state police charged Jeffrey J. Hutchins, 33, of Canton with driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for failure to keep right following a stop at 10:05 p.m. Saturday on County Route 34 at Emerson Road in the town of Potsdam. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.17 percent. A blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher is considered proof of intoxication in the state.

DWI - CANTON - Canton-based state police charged Erica L. Saber, 29, of Canton with driving while intoxicated and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and ticketed her for a right of way violation for allegedly improperly entering the roadway following a traffic stop at 12:02 a.m. Saturday on Park Street in the village of Canton. She refused to take a breath test, troopers said.

PETIT LARCENY - OSWEGATCHIE - Ogdensburg-based state police charged Jordan M. Murdock, 16, of Ogdensburg with petit larceny Friday evening following an investigation into a shoplifting complaint filed with troopers on July 17 from the town of Oswegatchie.

ANIMAL NEGLECT - HAMMOND - Ogdensburg-based state police charged Elisabeth H. Pechey, 37, of Hammond with three counts of neglect of an impounded animal, owning/harboring an unlicensed dog and keeping an unvaccinated dog following an investigation into a complaint filed with troopers at 9 p.m. Saturday. The arrest was made at 271 County Route 1, Hammond. Pechey was found to have three emaciated dogs one with visible sores, according to state police. Troopers said the investigation followed a complaint they received Saturday that Pechey was neglecting her pets. Because there was not a court order, the animals remained on the premises.

DWI - CANTON - Canton-based state police charged Jason A. Carpenter, 42, of Hermon with driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for speeding following a traffic stop at 11:29 p.m. Sunday on Route 11 in the town of Canton. His blood alcohol content was not available.

UNLAWFULLY GROWING CANNABIS - RUSSELL - Canton-based state police charged Christopher J. St. Louis, 28, of Russell and Wendy L. Bush, 33, of Russell with unlawful growing of cannabis, unlawful possession of marijuana and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17 Thursday afternoon, stemming from an incident reported to troopers at 7:21 p.m. Wednesday from the town of Russell. St. Louis was arrested at 1:10 p.m. in the town of Russell and Bush was arrested an hour later in the village of Canton. They were released on appearance tickets.
