Isaac Ike Perkins, age 93, of 715 Riverside Ave, Ogdensburg, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 29, 2014, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. There will be no funeral or calling hours. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Frary Funeral Home.

Isaac is survived by four grandchildren; Dawn Perkins, Carl Perkins, Renee Cole and Amanda St. Marie; five great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son, Dana Richard Perkins; three brothers, Joseph, Adelord and Henry Perkins; and five sisters, Lillian Gauthier, Georgianna Buffett, Irene Chevrier, Marie Perkins and Lucille Perkins.

Isaac was born in Ogdensburg on October 17, 1920, the son of Joseph and Georgianna Montroy Perkins. He attended local schools in the area and then went on to join the United States Army in 1942. Isaac served in World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. Mr. Perkins received the European-African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After returning Isaac married Harriet Decare on September 20, 1947 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Ogdensburg. She predeceased him on January 26, 1977. Mr. Perkins worked for the Highway Department as an equipment operator and retired in 1980 after 33 years of service.

Isaac was a life member of the VFW, the American Legion, AARP and was also a member of the CSEA where he held the position of President for 16 years.
