MORLEY — The Morley Library Association, Inc., Morley Wesleyan Church, the Morley Volunteer Fire Department and the Morley Grist Mill Association have once again come together to organize the Morley Community Summer Festival on August 22 and August 23 throughout the Hamlet of Morley.
Music, food, tours, along with activities, events and entertainment of all sorts are being planned for this years Festival.
The weekend kicks off on at 6 p.m. the evening of August 22 at the Fire Department Rec Hall with an ice cream social and music at 6:30 p.m. by the Charlton Brothers band. At the same time youngsters will be entertained with stories at the Library at the Great Stuffed Animal Sleep-over.
The next morning the events begin at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast offered by the Morley Wesleyan Church at the Morley Activity Building. At noon, the Fire Department have planned a take-out chicken barbecue for festival-goers.
Throughout the day, activities for children and adults will take place at several venues. Games, face painting, treats from Mr. Ding-A-Ling’s truck, an appearance by members of this years Dairy Princess’ Court, movies at the Library, and a performance by the Noteworthy Handbell Choir at 1 p.m. at Trinity Chapel are only a portion of many activities planned.
An open house with Morley history and photo displays at the Library, tours and demonstrations and other activities at the Grist Mill and tours of the historic Trinity Chapel and Morley Cemetery will be conducted throughout the day.
