A new bill to fight invasives and improve area soil and water districts was signed by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo.
The bill updates laws for the districts, allowing them to increase their efforts in fighting the spread of invasives, authorizing them to undertake conservation education programs.
The bill was sponsored by Assemblywoman Addie J. Russell, D-Theresa. “A host of industries in the North Country depend on the health of our rivers, lakes and soil,” she said. “Protecting these natural resources means protecting the jobs that depend upon them and preserving the natural beauty of our communities.”
