Riverview-Dar’s outlasts Rampage for Town and Tavern Softball win


Riverview-Dar’s held off Rampage 20-19 in eight innings in Town and Tavern Modified Softball League action from last Monday.

After two scoreless innings, the teams traded rallies and leads over the next five with Mike Macaulay hitting a game-tying homerun in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings. Rampage took the lead with a pair of runs in the eight before MVP Terry Pagie capped a 3-5 performance with a game-winning inside-the-park homerun. Macaulay also doubled and scored twice in going 3-3 on the night while Ricki Allen went 2-3 with two runs scored.

For Rampage, Jason Whalen hit for the cycle and came around to score three times. Anthony Cortese went 4-5 with a homerun and two runs scored. Ron Converse was 3-4 with two runs scored while AJ Favereau and Leon J. Shorette both slugged homeruns.

Coast Guard 19, Parishville Amvets 14: MVP Joey LaBelle went 4-4 with four runs scored in the winning effort. Brandon Hewlett was 3-3 with two runs scored while Derrick Levac was 4-4 with a triple and two runs scored.

Coast Guard 17, Rampage 5: MVP Nick McKeel went 3-4 with a triple and two runs scored as Coast Guard steadily pulled away to the win. Rob Duncan and Avery Barney (triple) both had two hits and came around to score a pair of runs.

Laughing Crow 16, Pit Stop-Big Boyz 16 (suspended): A 10-run outburst in the fifth inning put Pit Stop-Big Boyz ahead 18-8 before Laughing Crow battled back to tie the game in the seventh.

Jake Kormanyos and Mike Bell had key hits for Pit Stop-Big Boyz.

Matt Bresett, Pete Timmons and Bryan Vanderwalker played lead roles offensively for Lauging Crow Winery.

Gandy Dancer 7, Casino 1: A four-run surge in the fifth helped carry Gandy Dancer to the win as MVP Jason Newcombe hurled the victory and went 3-3 with a double and two runs scored. Mike Harper went 2-3 with a run scored and Mike Schwartfigure singled.

For Casino, Justin Bartholomew was 2-3 while Eric Brabant homered to account for the only run.

Timber Tavern 29, No Law Warriors 19: Timber Tavern jumped out to a 13-4 lead after two innings and never looked back for the win. MVP Dennis Keleher went 3-4 with a homerun, triple and five runs scored. Trevor Keleher was 5-6 with a triple, two doubles and four runs scored while Tyler Kelher was 5-5 with three runs scored.

For the Warriors, Weller went 4-4 with a homerun, double and three runs scored. Erik McLaughlin went 2-3 with a homerun while Brett Mahoney was 3-3 with a double and three runs scored.


Timber Tavern 14, Laughing Crow 13: MVP Jarred Bullock went 3-3 with a double and run scored in the winning effort.

Timber Tavern 8, Casino 5: MVP Derek Brown launched a homerun in the win.

Gandy Dancer 33, Parishville Amvets 7; MVP Mike Schwartfigure led the winning offense going 3-6 with a pair of homeruns.

Riverview-Dar’s 16, Coast Guard 15: MVP Patrick Thompson anchored the winning offense going 2-3 with a homerun and two runs scored.

Norwood Legion 16, No Law Warriors 15: MVP Chris McGrath went 4-4 with three runs scored in the winning effort.

Pit Stop-Big Boyz 13, Rampage 9: Pit Stop-Big Boyz prevailed in a game that went six innings.
