GRAND LARCENY - NORFOLK - Massena-based state police picked up Jeremy J. Monroe, 32, of 841 County Route 38, Norfolk, on Wednesday on a bench warrant issued on July 31 by Norfolk Town Justice George C. Grubee for failure to comply with probation. He had been charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and fifth-degree conspiracy. Monroe was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond, to reappear Wednesday in Norfolk Town Court.
ARSON - NORTH BANGOR - Malone-based state police charged Brian L. Richards Jr., 20, of Brasher Falls with felony counts of third-degree arson and second-degree burglary Tuesday stemming from an Aug. 1 burglary and arson at 1169 County Route 22, North Bangor. Richards was arraigned in Bangor Town Court and sent to the Franklin County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 secured bond. Police said their investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
HARASSMENT - FORT COVINGTON - Malone-based state police charged Michael J. Rousseau, 43, of Malone with second-degree harassment at 2:38 p.m. Wednesday in Malone, stemming from an incident reported to troopers at 1:55 p.m. July 30 from the town of Fort Covington.
DWI - CONSTABLE - Malone-based state police charged David J. Dustin, 63, of Constable with driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction in 10 years, operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and a seat belt violation at 7:43 p.m. Wednesday on state Route 30 in the town of Constable.
ACCIDENT - MACOMB - Gouverneur-based state police investigated a one-vehicle property damage accident at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday on County Route 7 in the town of Macomb. The vehicle was operated by John E. Vanschaick, 58, of Hammond.
